The Road of Hope

The climate of the Eastern Mediterranean conduces to a human lifestyle like no other part of earth. Therefore, it’s no wonder this has always been a prime spot of human habitation. Unfortunately, its natural beauty has regularly invited conflict between inhabitants and outsiders of all walks of life.

However, its people are better than that. They are sick and tired of being drawn into conflict between whoever else. For thousands of years, people there have lived together peacefully, going about their daily chores and supporting one another. Only when, by means of corruption, extremism started to get a foothold in their communities, matters changed.

After enormous amounts of suffering this has caused, particularly over the last eight decades, it’s about time to overcome this conundrum, root out extremism and help people to build their lives together.

The Road of Hope is an initiative to bring people together along the coastal route from Istanbul to Alexandria.
