Together with our local partners of TUDAU CBO (Entebbe, Uganda), Hayati is developing cooperative projects in the field of Practice-Based Learning and Skills Training (PBL and ST). Our concept is bottom-up, decentralised and strictly community-based, complementary to the formal educational system. Skills and capacities such as local languages, traditional agriculture and crafts will be passed on from practitioners to young adults in their local communities. Thereby, trainees/learners gain the opportunity to learn meaningful social-cultural economic activities to lift themselves out of unemployment, while practitioners can ensure the survival of their skills/crafts/businesses, and unemployed language teachers get a new chance. Such skills training programs will be accessible, affordable, inclusive, cooperative, environmentally friendly and intergenerational. They will be rooted in Hayati’s expertise as exhibited by the following project.
