Kerstin and Miles Rice have been living and working at the historic Schönberg manor in the Altmark since 2020. Miles, an internationally active designer and sculptor, combines traditional craft techniques with a contemporary design language. Kerstin, a printmaker and cultural activist, founded The ARCH gUG – Alliance for Rare Crafts Heritage – in 2024. The ARCH is a global, non-profit initiative that protects and passes on rare crafts rooted in cultural heritage as a living practice for the future. Based in the Altmark, it connects craftspeople, academics and communities in more than 40 countries. Locally, in the Altmark, they are experimenting with intergenerational encounters, mobile youth workshops and community-run spaces – a location where craft, culture and community are reimagined and experienced anew.
Kerstin und Miles Rice leben und arbeiten seit 2020 auf dem historischen Rittergut Schönberg in der Altmark. Miles, international agierender Designer und Bildhauer, verbindet traditionelle Handwerkstechniken mit zeitgenössischer Formensprache.
